A small workshop building cribbage boards, dice boxes, yard games, and custom signs. Drawn on screen, cut on a CNC router and a CO2 laser, sanded and finished by hand.
A nook with a router, a laser, and a lot of sawdust.
The Crafted Nook started the way most workshops do — one project that turned out well enough that somebody asked for another. Cribbage boards first, then dice boxes, then a set of yard games for a family reunion, then a sign for a neighbor's cabin.
Everything here gets drawn before it gets cut. A cribbage track is laid out so the holes land where your thumb expects them. A dice box is sized to the dice going in it, not to whatever the stock happened to be.
The hand work is still hand work. Sanding, glue-ups, finish, and the final once-over happen at the bench, one piece at a time.

Three steps, in this order, on every piece that leaves the shop.
Drawn to size
Every piece is laid out as a real drawing first — hole spacing, track geometry, board thickness, engraving depth. Nothing gets eyeballed on the machine.
Cut on the machine
The router handles profiles, pockets, and peg holes. The laser handles names, dates, and artwork. Same file, same result, every run.
Finished by hand
Sanded through the grits, eased on the edges, oiled or hardwax finished, then checked over before it goes in the box.
